The 2012 Eurovision Young Musicians competition took place on the open air stage at the Rathausplatz in Vienna (Austria) on May 12, 2006
The 16th edition of Eurovision Young Musicians was held in Vienna. A total of 14 countries took part in the competition and seven made it to the televised final: Armenia, Austria, Belarus, Czech Republic, Germany, Norway and Poland.
All participants performed a classical piece of their choice accompanied by the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Cornelius Meister. Five countries did not partake that year (Cyprus, Romania, Russia, Sweden and the United Kingdom), while Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Georgia made their début.
Norway's Eivind Holtsmark Ringstad won the contest, with Austria's Emmanuel Tjeknavorian and Armenia's Narek Kazazyan placing second and third respectively.
