After a national selection held in Minsk last week, a specially appointed jury have decided that Cembalist Alexandra Denisenya will represent Belarus at this year’s Eurovision Young Musicians. The final took place in the Belarusian State Academy of Music, and saw performances from the five young artists that had made it through the previous two rounds. During the show, the audience were asked not to applaud the artists, so as not to influence the jury. The other finalists were republican contest - the qualification round and the audition - the jury members selected five best performers. Darya Eliseeva (flute), Irina Morozova (cembalos), Polina Popova (flute) and Lidia Kuksik (cembalo).
Alexandra is currently a student at the Republican Gymnasium-College of the Belarusian State Academy of Music, and has won many national and international contests in her field. She has performed with leading orchestra bands in Belarus, as well as having performed in different countries of Europe and Asia- such as Bahrain, Belgium, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom. Belarusian composer Vladimir Kuryan edited one of his best compositions, "Concertino for Cembalos and String Orchestra", especially for Alexandra to play in this contest.
