As one of two guitarists in this year’s competition, Vassilis Digos also carries the hopes of Greece on his shoulders this year. The 18 year old from Athens started learning the guitar when he was 11, and comes from a family of musicians.
He is the first person from Greece to play this instrument in the competition, a fact he is aware of: “I'm very excited about participating in Eurovision Young Musicians 2014. I'm very happy as it is the first time that a classical guitarist from Greece is going to Eurovision Young Musicians”.
“I haven't changed my program”, says Vassilis, looking ahead to the competition in Cologne, and telling us about his preparations. “I was always practicing very much and still do.”
The one thing Vassilis just cannot afford to forget for his trip to Cologne is, of course, his guitar – but is he bringing anything else special? “I will, for sure, bring my camera to capture all the moments from the competition” he told us.
