Livyka Shtirbu-Sokolov is the 14th and final participant to be announced for this year’s competition. The young pianist was selected internally by Moldovan television this week, after several days of auditions in the capital city, Chisinau. Livyka, who is sixteen years old, is currently a ninth grade student at the C.Porumbescu Lyceum of Music in Chisinau, where she studies in a specialty piano class of Professor Tatiana Sviridov.
She made her stage debut in 2006 in Chisinau’s Organ Hall, and took home the "Brilliant Debut" prize from the event! A year later she was awarded “Best debut of the year” by Moldovan television and over the past six years has added a long list of honours to her name – including performances in Moscow, Germany, Switzerland and Romania.
Moldova makes its debut at Eurovision Young Musicians this year, having joined the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005 and the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2010.
